Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 12-15 minutes Servings: 2 Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients:
- 2 salmon fillets (approx. 150-180g each), skinless
- 2 tablespoons Ceimayá Beeinmune Melipona Honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 large garlic clove, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melipona honey, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Prepare the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Cook the salmon: Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down (if applicable), or the thicker side if skinless. Cook for 4-5 minutes, until the bottom is golden brown.
- Glaze and finish: Flip the salmon fillets. Reduce heat to medium. Generously brush half of the melipona honey glaze over the top of each fillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is almost cooked through.
- Final glaze: Brush the remaining glaze over the salmon and cook for 1-2 more minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness (it flakes easily with a fork).
- Serve: Remove the salmon from the skillet. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or thyme and serve immediately with lemon wedges. Enjoy with your favorite side dish such as rice, quinoa, or steamed vegetables!
