Celebrate the New Year with this traditional leicaj recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs.
  • 1 cup of Ceimayá’s Volcano Honey: Wild Sunflower Blossom
  • Nuts and pine nuts to incorporate into the dough and to decorate the surface.
  • 1 cup sugar.
  • 4 cups of leavening flour.
  • ½ cup oil.
  • ½ teaspoon of clove powder.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  • 1 cup of strong tea.
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

 

Preparation:

Beat the eggs with the sugar until creamy. Continue beating and add the Ceimayá’s Volcano Honey: Wild Sunflower Blossom, oil, cloves, cinnamon. Then add the flour and baking soda. Pour the mixture into a greased mold. Bake in a moderate oven. The leavening flour can be replaced by 0000 flour with 1 generous teaspoon of baking powder. Finally, bake and serve as desired.
