We tell you more about mexican honey!
Honey in Mexico dates back to pre-Hispanic times. There are records that indicate that the Mayas venerated the honey of melipona beecheii. Fray Diego de Landa documented religious festivities held to the God of the bees, which were during the months of November (Tzec) and December (Mol) to have a good flow of nectar.
The Apis mellifera bee was introduced in Mexico little by little since the conquest. With this, beekeeping in Mexico developed over the years. In the 1930s some beekeepers’ organizations started, mainly in the states of Yucatán, Jalisco, Michoacán, Puebla and Veracruz. Beekeeping in Mexico took a great relevance, it began to have important quantities of honey production and exportation, so the country was positioned in preponderant places worldwide.
We are proud to be able to share nationally and internationally, the exquisite flavor and excellent quality of Mexican honey.
